Lenten Evening of Reflection
Jesuit warmly invites all members of our community to join us for the next Evening of Reflection, highlighting the life and work of Fr. Rick Thomas, S.J., who taught at Jesuit High School from 1960 to 1964. Fr. Thomas has recently been affirmed as a Servant of God, the first formal step that the Magisterium takes before canonizing a person as a saint.

“Path to Sainthood: The Life and Works of Father Rick Thomas, S.J.”

Michael Reuter is a full-time missionary with Our Lady’s Youth Center. Born and raised in Underwood, North Dakota, he graduated from North Dakota State College of Science with a degree in Autobody Technology. In 1985, after watching Viva Cristo Rey, a documentary recounting Father Thomas’s ministry at OLYC and the miracle of the multiplication of food in Juárez, Mexico, Reuter felt a profound call to serve the poor and committed to a year of service.
That initial commitment grew into a lifelong vocation as Reuter discerned a call to remain and joined the community. During this time, he developed a close friendship with Father Thomas that continued until Father Thomas’s death in 2006. Today, Reuter and his wife, Norma, live and serve at The Lord’s Ranch with their seven children, continuing the mission of Our Lady’s Youth Center.
