Safe Enviroment Training

As a parent of a Jesuit student, you may wish to volunteer for one or multiple Jesuit programs. All volunteers for all Jesuit activities who may have unsupervised contact with students must be registered with and approved by the Archdiocese of New Orleans, which uses the Virtus software platform for background screening and Safe Environment training, prior to coming on Jesuit campus or working with minors.

If you wish to volunteer with a particular program at Jesuit, please inform the moderator(s), who must enter your name and information into the school’s database. The database will send instructions for how to register in Virtus. 

If you have an existing account with the Archdiocese, please contact Madeleine Winningkoff in Jesuit’s Finance office at safeenvironment@jesuitnola.org before logging on to Virtus.

After creating a Virtus account, compliance requirements (which are subject to change per the guidance of the Archdiocese) include review of four online documents

After August 1 of every school year in which you plan to volunteer, completion of online training (which takes about 1.5 hours), and authorization of a background check. It is possible that annual in-person training will also be required in the future.
