Football
From the leather-helmet era to the Superdome, Blue Jay football has grown alongside New Orleans itself: rooted in City Park, hardened in the Catholic League, and devoted to forming competitors whose courage, discipline, and brotherhood reflect Jesuit’s mission on every snap.

Anchored by a lineage of district and state championships and longstanding rivalries dating back to 1922, Blue Jay football teaches accountability, resilience, and leadership. These lessons outlast the scoreboard and shape men for others after graduation.
Jesuit’s football record spans more than a century, with eight LHSAA state championships (1933, 1940, 1941, 1943, 1946, 1953, 1960, 2014) and numerous city and district titles. The Blue Jays have played most often at Tad Gormley Stadium and meet Holy Cross annually in a rivalry that began in 1922.
The program’s coaching eras—from Gernon Brown’s mid-century run to recent Catholic League campaigns—share a consistent focus: sound fundamentals, physical play, and team-first habits.
