2024 Rivalry Game Student Honorees

The 106th meeting and 102nd Anniversary between the Jays and the Tigers is soon to be underway. To honor those certain players who have made the game the venerable tradition that it is, Jesuit will be recognizing two current students athletes.

2024 Great American Rivalry Student-Athlete Award— Wyatt Mire

Jesuit’s 2024 Scholar-Athlete is outside linebacker Wyatt Mire, who boasts a 4.20 GPA. Wyatt is a four-year letterman and has been a starter for three years. He has served as a leader on the team’s leadership council throughout his high school career. Outside of football, Wyatt is vice president of the student body and captain of the wrestling team, where he placed 5th and 4th at the LHSAA State Wrestling Tournaments in 2023 and 2024. He has volunteered at St. Dominic’s Vacation Bible School and participated in Jesuit service trips to Brownsville, Texas. Wyatt is also treasurer of St. Dominic CYO. He plans to attend the University of Florida to study business. Wyatt is the son of Gina and Robert Mire. He will receive a scholarship from the Great American Rivalry Series.


2024 Royal Honda Community Service AwardWill Allen

Jesuit’s 2024 Royal Honda Community Service Award is presented to defensive tackle, Will Allen, a three-year letterman for exemplary service to the community.

In addition to earning the Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman Award at Saints Training Camp, Will has served the local community—and beyond—in numerous ways. He raised $63,000 for leukemia cancer research, volunteered with Grace at the Green Light, and participated in Jesuit’s service trip to Brownsville, Texas. Will has also served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, volunteered at Peristyle Residents, and worked at Plum Street Snowballs. Beyond his service, Will is secretary of the student body, a member of the National Honor Society, and a shot putter for the varsity track and field team. He plans to attend Ole Miss to major in Southern Studies before pursuing law school. Will is the son of Nicole and Duke Allen.
