Endowed Funds & Scholarships
Begun in 1926 with the visionary leadership of Henry Clay Prevost of the Class of 1873, Jesuit’s endowment ensures the school’s long-term strategic continuity. It also guarantees Jesuit’s audacious promise of a “needs-blind” admissions process.
Jesuit’s endowment is held and stewarded by the Jesuit High School of New Orleans Foundation. It is made up of transformational gifts from benefactors who prioritize the perpetual continuity of Jesuit’s mission.
In contrast to a current-use gift, the corpus of an endowed fund is left untouched over time to grow and support the school for generations to come.
Endowing a fund in the name of a family member, loved one, or friend is a unique and meaningful way to honor or remember the individual.

Jesuit provides two named endowment vehicles: Endowed Scholarships and Full Education Funds.
- Some donors choose to complete their endowed fund in one payment, and others choose to fulfill their gift over two to five years.
- Gifts to endowed funds are tax deductible.
- Once an Endowed Scholarship or Full Education Fund becomes fully endowed, the name of the fund is displayed permanently in the school’s entrance in the Madonna della Strada Building.
- Jesuit offers to host a small reception for family members upon completion if the donor chooses to do so. The reception is typically preceded by a Vigil Mass in the Holy Name of Jesus Chapel located on the second floor of the Banks Street administration building.

Full Education Funds
A fully endowed Full Education Fund (FEF) is currently $250,000. The annual return on the principal investment from an FEF equals the full cost of tuition plus the annual “gap,” which is $4,854 for fiscal year 2026. This amount is the actual total cost of educating a Blue Jay for a year.

Donors can also start endowed funds such as Full Education Funds through a “planned gift” such as an estate gift or bequest. Planned giving provides benefactors with a way to leave a lasting legacy in a way that can often be up to 200 times the impact of a current-use gift to an annual fund like the Alumni Giving Drive.
Scholarships
An Endowed Scholarship fund is $75,000. Scholarships make it possible for deserving students from all walks of life and from all over the New Orleans metropolitan area to attend Jesuit High School.
