College Planning

Jesuit is committed to assisting its students in the college admissions process. To that end, students have access to two full-time college counselors and one part-time college counselor. View the online Directory of College Counselors.

College counselors meet individually with juniors and seniors to discuss the college admissions process, including the importance of curriculum choice as well as academic performance, the need for co-curricular involvement, standardized testing preparation, and avenues for pursuing scholarships and financial aid.

In addition, college admission representatives attend our College Fair and make individual classroom lunchtime visits to meet with interested juniors and seniors. Workshops and information sessions for parents and students begin in the fall of junior year with College Night, an event where the college counselors outline the application and selection process. Parents and students have the opportunity to attend several more sessions, one in the spring of junior year and one again in the fall of senior year. Each program is specifically tailored to tackle the issues faced during that particular phase of the application timeline.

Parents are also encouraged to schedule an individual meeting with their son’s college counselor in the spring of the student’s junior year.
