After a strong season-opener by the Jesuit lacrosse team, the Blue Jay lacrosse squad (2–0) travelled across Lake Pontchartrain to clinch its second victory of the season against local rival St. Paul’s. The team returned home over the Causeway with a 16–5 win.

The offensive effort was led by senior attacker Andrew Brown—who was recently named LHSLL’s first player of the week for the 2021 season—who earned five goals and four assists, and fellow senior attacker Evan Centola, who also posted five goals. Seniors Jack Unger (four points, two assists), Dickson Chamberlain (one point, two assists), and Mac Schwarzenbach (one point) also contributed to the team’s stand-out offensive performance.

At midfield, Unger picked up 15 ground balls and singlehandedly won an impressive 16 faceoffs. Junior midfielder George Martin won an additional three faceoffs, ensuring that the Jays controlled the ball 19 out of 25 times.

Sophomore goalie Ethan Lago protected the Jesuit goal from five of St. Paul’s attempts, holding the Wolves to the single digits.

Hot on the heels of baseball and basketball victories against the Catholic High School, Jesuit LAX players travel to Baton Rouge on Friday, March 12 to face off against the Bears at 7:00 p.m.
