Rugby

Competing on the national stage, Jesuit rugby seeks out challenging opponents from coast to coast. The team’s perennial success comes from unmatched conditioning, communication, and teamwork.

Blue Jay rugby has earned a reputation for taking on top competition wherever it’s found, treating every match as preparation for the next.

That mindset has put Jesuit on fields well beyond Louisiana facing nationally recognized powerhouses. In recent seasons, the program has expanded that challenge even further by competing in two leagues at once. Jesuit has been the only non-Texas program competing in Texas Versity Cup, balancing travel, tough competition, and the demands of effectively fielding two varsity sides on many weekend.

Jesuit captured state championships in 2022, 2023, and 2024, reached four consecutive state championship matches through 2025, and remains the most decorated program in Louisiana high school rugby with 12 state titles.

The program continues to open doors: recent alumni have gone on to play the game from locations as near as New Orleans and as distant as New Zealand and Wales.
