SOCCER CLINCHES LHSAA DIVISION I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The soccer team captured the LHSAA Division I State Championship with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Brother Martin at Strawberry Stadium, marking the program’s 14th state championship in school history.
The Blue Jays entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed following an undefeated regular season and continued their dominant run through the postseason. The Jays secured its place in the state final with an impressive 5-2 semifinal win over Baton Rouge High.
Brother Martin struck first in the championship match after an initial shot was blocked by junior goalkeeper Vance Andry, but the rebound off the deflection was kicked in to give the Crusaders an early lead.
The Blue Jays remained poised and resilient. With 33:33 remaining in the second half, junior Casey Parker-Karst delivered the equalizer to shift the momentum. Just minutes later, at the 29:15 mark, Parker-Karst struck again, finding the net to give Jesuit a 2-1 advantage. For his standout performance, Parker-Karst was named the Most Outstanding Player of the game.
In a heart-stopping final minute, Andry came up with a clutch save to preserve the lead and secure the championship victory.
The win capped off a historic season as the Blue Jays finished 23-0-2, completing an undefeated campaign and adding another state title to the soccer program. Head coach Hubie Collins has now led the program to 10 of its 14 state championships.
