Regular Order, Day 3

  • Calliope is now accepting submissions. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 9. See the guidelines on Canvas or Mr. Bowes if you have any questions.
  • Any student interested in joining the Bass Fishing team will meet today during the first half of lunch in Room 313. 
  • Classic Rock Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 203.
  • All pre-freshmen and freshmen attending the Math Tournament at Catholic in Baton Rouge will have practice today during the second half of lunch in Room 330.
  • The Ice Cream Social Club will meet today during the second half of lunch on the second floor of the Roussell building.
  • The varsity soccer team plays at Brother Martin this afternoon starting at 3:15.  On Saturday the team will host Country Day at Lafreniere starting at 2:00.
  • The varsity basketball team plays at Edna Karr tonight with tip off set for 7:00.  The jv game begins at 5:45.
  • The jv basketball team will participate in the E.D. White Round Robin on Saturday.
  • The 9th grade basketball team will play at St. Paul’s on Saturday starting at 11:00.
  • The 8th grade basketball team will play Holy Cross at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday then face John Curtis at 12:00.  Both games will be played at Rummel.
  • The varsity lacrosse team will compete in the Jesuit Dallas Tournament this weekend.
  • If you have received an invitation to Rally, you must respond to Mr. Webre as soon as possible, even if your answer is no. If you need more time to decide, please see Mr. Webre.
  • Second-notice printing fees for December have been sent to student’s Outlook email accounts.  To avoid losing computer services and receiving a PH, students should pay their fees in Room 215 before the end of the school day today either before school, at 10-minute Break, or during the lunch hour.

Results:

  • The Philelectic Society’s 16th Annual Senior-Directed One Act Play and Improv Comedy Festival last weekend collected $1,250 and 72.2 pounds of food for Second Harvest Food Bank. Every dollar provides four meals for a total of 5000 meals provided to members of our local community in need.
  •  On Saturday, the 8th grade basketball team went 2-0 against district opponents. The team first defeated Brother Martin 33-26. Rhys Diley led all scorers with 12 points. Grant Wells scored 6 points and Brandon Haggerty added 4.  In the 2nd game, the team beat a strong Rummel team by a score of 59-47. Harrison Serio caught fire in the 4th quarter and hit three consecutive 3-pointers to close out the Raiders. He was the leading scorer with 17 points. Rhys Diley scored 14. Jacolby Trudeau added 11 points and Race Hughes scored 9. The team also got important second half contributions from Brooks Blanchard, Aaron Cockerham, and Chris Jennings.
