Regular Order, Day 6

  • Daily confessions have returned in the 2nd floor chapel. You’re invited to come to the Sacrament any school day during the second half of lunch. 
  • This Wednesday, Jan. 24, is Career Day. We will follow an Assembly Order #1 on this day where all career-oriented activities will take place during the morning assembly period from 8:00 – 9:05 a.m. All grade levels will begin the day in their homerooms and will be dismissed to their appropriate areas of the school over the intercom. Juniors and seniors will listen to and interact with alumni guests from various career fields. The complete list of professions and speakers is posted on the Guidance page on Canvas and in junior and senior homerooms. Pre-freshmen, freshmen, and sophomores will hear a career presentation in the auditorium by Dan Clancy, ’81. Mr. Clancy, an American technologist and computer scientist, is currently the CEO of the livestreaming platform Twitch. Please see Mrs. Strain in the Guidance office if you have any questions.
  • The books ordered from Jason Evert have arrived. If you ordered a book, you can pick it up today through Thursday outside of the campus ministry office during the first half of lunch.
  • The General Student Council will meet today during the first half of lunch in the auditorium.
  • All students are invited to join Mr. Newell and Mr. Jaskiewicz at Campus Ministry’s GIM (Guided Ignatian Meditation) today during the second half of lunch in the 2nd floor chapel.
  • The Acoustic Guitar Club will meet today and tomorrow during the second half of lunch in Room 330.
  • The Card Magic Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 403. 
  • The Spanish Club will meet today during second half of lunch in Room 409.
  • The Blue Jay newspaper staff will meet today during the second half of lunch in Student Life Conference room.
  • Students attending the Mu Alpha Theta Tournament at Catholic High this Saturday will practice today through Thursday of this week during the second half of lunch. Algebra 2, Precalculus, and Calculus students will meet in Room 227, 229, & 231. Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and Geometry students will meet in Room 330.
  • The Phils E-Board will meet today from 3:30-4:30.
  • The varsity soccer team plays at Rummel this afternoon starting at 3:30.
  • The varsity basketball team plays at Holy Cross tonight with tip off set for 7:00.  The jv game begins at 5:45, while the 9th grade game starts at 4:30. Student IDs are accepted at the gate.
  • Beach volleyball sweatshirt order forms and money are due on Thursday. The order form can be found on Canvas.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Catalano. 
  • Students interested in serving breakfast this week to the homeless at Grace at the Greenlight should see Mr. Delatte as soon as possible.
  • Anyone who has winter clothing to donate to Grace at the Greenlight can bring the donations to the Campus Ministry Office this week.
  • All pre-freshmen and freshmen attending the Math Tournament at Catholic in Baton Rouge will have practice today through Friday during the second half of lunch in Room 330.
  • Juniors interested in learning more about a Service Trip to the Southern Border where we will spend a week working with the migrant population in Southern Texas should attend an informational meeting Thursday in St. Ignatius Hall.
  • Printing fees for the month of December have been sent via e-mail. Students should pay your printing fees in Room 215 either before school, at 10-minute break, or during the lunch hour before Tuesday, Jan. 23 to avoid losing computer services and receiving a PH.
