Regular Order, Day 3

  • The Chess Club will meet today after school in Room 311.
  • The bowling team will face Slidell this afternoon at AMF Lanes starting at 3:20.
  • The jv baseball team will face St. Augustine this evening at John  Ryan Stadium starting at 5:30.
  • The 8th grade baseball team will play at Holy Cross this afternoon starting at 4:00.
  • All Big Brothers should have contacted their Little Brothers.  Please contact Coach Ursin to address any issues. 

Result:

  • Last Thursday, the 8th grade baseball team defeated John Curtis 3-2.  Jackson Dugan pitched three scoreless innings.  Dugan, James Adams, Kahler Lyon, Calvin McGee, and Brennan Chaix each had big hits.  
  • The Junior Varsity Baseball Team recorded two victories last week.  On Monday, the Blue Jay Vees defeated Shaw 10-0.  Brayden Laurent and Joseph Bosco combined to pitch a 2-hit shutout of the Eagles. Offensively, Michael Brothers, Connor Donnelly, Gavin Palmisano, and Brock McMyne led the team with two hits each.  Then, on Wednesday, the Blue Jay Vees defeated Holy Cross 11-0.  Marshal Serio led the offensive attack with 2 doubles and 4 RBIs, and Brandon Thomas and Harry Leche also knocked run-producing doubles.  Beau Matulewski earned the win, pitching 4 scoreless innings and allowing only 2 hits.  Dalton Loupe pitched a perfect last inning to close the game in relief.
  • The varsity baseball team swept the Jesuit Invitational Tournament this weekend.  On Friday, the team defeated Ascension Episcopal 7-3.  Gate Barre was the winning pitcher.  Everett Denny, William Good, and Hunter Oufnac had multiple hits.  On Saturday, they beat Harrison Central from Mississippi 10-0.  Everett Denny pitched a complete game and struck out nine batters. Patrick Berrigan, Luke Werling, and Denny had multiple hits. On Saturday, the varsity team defeated Nolan Catholic from Texas 3-2.  Jack Ainsworth pick up the victory in relief.  Lee Bridgewater and Ainsworth combined for 13 strikeouts.  Alex Jeansonne was 3-3 in the game.  
  • The 8th Grade lacrosse team took on St. Thomas More this past Saturday. With Goals added from Adam Talbot, Cameron Devine, Aston Hinyub, and the Couvillon’s both Myles and Blake, the Jays won 6-3. 
  • The Varsity Lacrosse team won their season opener on Saturday in Lafayette against St. Thomas More 8-7 in a nail-biter. Junior John Calhoun scored three goals, Senior Nick Frischertz and Junior Jack Sutherland each scored two goals, and Sophomore Zac Raymond scored one goal. Defensive efforts were led by Seniors Grant Piaccune, Austin Stuke, Aidan Couvillon, and Junior Will Reinhardt. Junior Will Newman and TJ Galliano contributed in the center of the field and Senior goalie Ethan Lago had a whopping 14 saves throughout the game.
