Regular Order, Day 5

  • Bidding for the FIFA Tournament to benefit the 2022 Mission Drive begins today in the Commons and concludes Friday at the end of lunch. Starting bids for each team are $5. All bids must be submitted by Friday at the end of lunch to qualify for the Tournament. See Joe Liberto or Richard Tonry with questions.
  • Members of all sports teams and the band are asked to sign their team pictures today or tomorrow during lunch in the first floor hallway outside of the Cafe.
  • Bazaar shirts that were preordered can be picked up today and tomorrow during lunch in the Student Commons. Bazaar shirts may be worn to school this Friday, March 11.
  • Mardi Gras beads are being collected for St. Michael School all this week. Place beads in the bins outside the library or at the switchboard.
  • Students attending the Mu Alpha Theta Convention should check the bulletin board outside of Room 328 by the end of 10-minute break today for rooming and gaming assignments.  Any changes must be approved by Mrs. Brauner.
  • The Jesuit Men of color will meet today during the during half of lunch in Room 210.
  • The Creative Writing Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 115.
  • Acoustic Guitar Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room  330.
  • The NBA Season is winding down and the Pelicans may be heading towards a showdown against the Lakers. Discuss this and more at today’s Sports Analysis Club meeting today during the second half of lunch in Heritage Hall (first floor of the new building).
  • The JV baseball team will host Rummel this evening at John Ryan Stadium starting at 5:30.
  • The 8th grade baseball team will play at Harry Hurst this evening starting at 5:00.
  • Student Ministry will meet tomorrow at 7:25am in Room 224. See Mr. Flores if you cannot attend.
  • Lettermen jacket measurements and stripe distribution for the sports of basketball, wrestling, and soccer will take place today during lunch in the weight room.  Please check with your head coach if you have any questions regarding your letterman status.
  • Do you have what it takes to compete against the brightest here at Jesuit? Join the Academic Games team in Heritage Hall (first floor of new building) for the ultimate battle of wits during the second half of lunch on Thursday and Friday. Brain food will be provided. 
  • All Juniors interested in serving as Big Brothers for next school year will meet tomorrow during the first half of lunch in the auditorium.
  • All Sophomores interested in serving as Big Brothers for next school year will meet tomorrow during the second half of lunch in the auditorium.
  • Big Brother online applications are due this Friday.
  • Winter Sports Recognition Night is scheduled for Thursday night in the auditorium starting at 6:30 p.m.  All basketball, soccer, wrestling, and cheerleader lettermen are expected to be in attendance.  Report time is 6:10. Attire is coat and tie.OS
  • All juniors must complete the service project survey posted to Canvas by the end of the day today. See Mr. Murphy in Room 225 with any questions.
  • Juniors attending the March Kairos retreat should attend a brief meeting Friday at the start of lunch in Room 220.
  • Printing fees for the month of February have been distributed in homeroom. Students must pay their bill tomorrow to avoid the loss of computer services. Payment is accepted in Room 215 before school, at 10-minute break, and during the lunch hour.
  • An admissions representative from Houston Baptist University will on campus today during lunch in Room 122. 

Results:

  • On Saturday, the 8th grade baseball team defeated Brother Martin 8-3.  Joe Bosco was the winning pitcher.  Beau Matulewski, Gavin Palmisano, and Brennan Jeansonne each had two hits. 
  • Over the weekend, the varsity baseball team swept the Jesuit Invitational Tournament.  The team beat Ascension Episcopal 9-4, East St. John 14-1, Northshore 8-1, and Nolan Catholic from Ft. Worth,TX 4-2.  

On Friday night at Yenni stadium, the track team won its opening meet, the Patrick Ruth relays.   

3rd place finishers were:

The 1200 Meter Sprint Relay team of: CJ Evans, Nick Foley, Augie Berner, and Jody Barber  

2nd place finishers were: 

Logan Daigle in the Shot Put and Discus 

Caleb Keister in the Pole Vault 

The Distance Medley Relay team of: Jack Garvey, Jason Thompson, Gardner Ebrahim, and Jude LaCour and

The 800 Meter Sprint Relay team of: Josh Walker, CJ Evans, Augie Berner, Connor LaCour 

1st place finishers were:  

Jody Barber in the Long Jump 

The 4×800 Relay team of: Nick Navarro, Jack Lauto, Michael Trepagnier, and Tanner Salsman AND 

Jack Larriviere in the discus and javelin.  Jack’s Javelin throw of 195’ set a new Jesuit school record and is currently ranked #1 in the nation.
