Parents of incoming students attended the Welcome Day for Parents of New Blue Jays — a presentation and reception in the Auditorium and Student Commons — on Saturday, April 1. The presentation provided the parents an overview of the school’s history and of the year to come for their incoming freshmen and pre-freshmen sons. Parents were also given a brief tour of the features of Jesuit’s website.
Following the presentation, a reception afforded the opportunity to meet other new parents of Blue Jays. Many veteran Jesuit mothers and fathers also assisted with the event, helping with logistics and greeting the incoming parents.
New parents also received complimentary tickets to the Philelectic Society’s spring production of Les Miserables. Additionally, the Blue Jay Shop was open for parents to purchase Jesuit clothing and gear.
The newest group of Blue Jays will receive their own introduction to Jesuit at Welcome Day on Saturday, May 13.
In the meantime, new parents may brush up on their “Jesuit vocabulary” on the Jesuit A to Z page, view the faculty and staff directory online, or peruse the Parents page for frequently-used Jesuit resources.
