Blue Jays Place in Top Ten at State Indoor Track Meet

Several Blue Jays placed in the top ten of their respective events, helping the team to a 7th place finish at the LHSAA State Indoor Track and Field Meet at the LSU Field House on Feb. 20, 2015.

Sophomore Jandon Briscoe broke the school record for the indoor 400 meter dash with a time of 50.80. Until Saturday, the record stood since 1993. His performance earned him 3rd place at the state meet.

Senior Austin Schott took home 2nd place in the pole vault, while the 4 x 800 meter relay team of sophomore Eli Sisung, senior Michael Schwing, and sophomores Reed Meric and Tanner Tresca came in at 3rd place. Senior Chris Mills took home 6th place in the 60 meter hurdles.

Four other Blue Jays helped their team to its finish in the state meet. Senior Daniel Augustin took 9th place in the pole vault. Junior Malachi Hull placed 15th in the triple jump, while Schwing came in at 11th place in the 1600 meter run. Junior Roshan Sojitra took home 10th place for each of his performances in the 60 meter hurdles and high jump.
