In the final days of senior classes senior Ryan Guillot made preparations to launch his 3D-printed rocket across Will Clark Field. Mr. Kyle White’s engineering class took to the skies after spending two weeks designing their rockets on SolidWorks Software and translating their designs to the LulzBot TAZ 6 3D printer. Made from polylactic acid (PLA) and powered by pressurized air from a bike pump, some rockets traveled the entirety of Clark Field while others fell apart on their ascent. Seniors Will Sheill and Matthew Richard were victorious with their rocket design, named “Mark I,” as it went the farthest out of the five designs tested.
