The track and field team competed in two meets — the Skipper Relays at Mandeville High School and the Christian Brothers Relays at St. Paul’s School — on Saturday, March 14. 

At the Skipper Relays, two new school records were set. The distance medley Relay team of Reed Meric, Patrick LaCour, Eli Sisung, and Michael Schwing ran a time of 11:21.26 seconds, finishing 2nd overall and beating the previous Jesuit record by more than 10 seconds. The 800-meter sprint medley relay team of Connor Prouet, Brennan Jeffrey, Hampton Callais, and Tripp Kropog finished with a time of 1:45.82.

Other top finishers included Jarod Larriviere and Denny McGinnis in the javelin, Benton Moore in the high jump, Andrew Stapp in the pole vault, and Colin Scripter in the 300-meter hurdles. 

The team of Reed Meric, Patrick LaCour, Eli Sisung, and Michael Schwing won the 4×800-meter relay with a time of 8:32.

At the Christian Brothers Relays, the Blue Jays took home 3rd place overall.

Top finishers included Michael McMahon in the javelin, Malachi Hull in the long and triple jump, Roshan Sojitra in the high jump and the 300-meter hurdles, Beau Nicaud in the high jump, Daniel Augustin in the pole vault, Jandon Briscoe and Raymond Nash in the 100-meter dash, Kenny Murray in the 200-meter dash, Carlos Zervigon and Matthews Vargas in the 3200-meter run, the 4×100-meter relay team of Malachi Hull, Bobby Comeaux, Raymond, Nash, and Kenny Murray, and the 4×400-meter relay team of Bobby Comeaux, Jandon Briscoe, Richmond Wall, and Patrick Rooney.

Winning their events were: Mark Jaunet in the Javelin, throwing 147.10, Austin Schott in the pole vault, clearing 15 feet, and the 4×200 meter relay team of Bobby Comeaux, Jandon Briscoe, Kenny Murray, and Richmond Wall running a time of 1:33.51.

The Blue Jays return to action on Saturday, March 21 when they compete in the Varsity Track Catholic School Challenge at St. Stanislaus High School in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
