Swimmers Continue Strong Start, Winning Three Dual Meets

The Blue Jay swimming team continued its strong start to the season, posting three wins in recent dual meets. The Jays return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 21 in the University of New Orleans Aquatic Center in a Dual Meet against Archbishop Rummel High School.

Dual Meet vs. Mandeville High School

On Wednesday, Sept. 9, the Blue Jays participated in the Metro Dual Meet vs. Mandeville High School at Franco’s Athletic Club, besting the Skippers, 113-56.

Several Blue Jays took home first place in individual events. In the 100-yard freestyle, junior Jack Jackson finished first, with a time of 51.14. Junior Josh Armond had standout performances, taking top honors in both the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyles. Brothers Cade and Cyrus Fuxan took first and fifth place, respectively, in the 100-yard butterfly. The Blue Jays’ freestyle and medley relay teams were also successful, sweeping the events.

Dual Meet vs. Northshore High School

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, Jesuit won a dual meet against Northshore High School, 114-52, held at Cross Gates.

Junior Jack Jackson took first place in the 50-yard freestyle. Senior Cade Fuxan finished first in both the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard IM. Junior Josh Armand nabbed top honors in both the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard Butterfly. Freshman Davis Edwards took top honors in the 500-yard freestyle.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Jackson, Fuxan, Wilkens, and Armond took first, while Jesuit’s other two relay teams — 400-yard freestyle and 200-yard Medley — came in second.

Dual Meet vs. Brother Martin High School

On Thursday, Sept. 24, Blue Jay swimmers won the Metro Dual Meet vs. Brother Martin High School held at the University of New Orleans, 126-43.

Blue Jays placed first in every event entered. Junior Jack Jackson took first place in the 50-yard and 100-yard Freestyle events. Junior Josh Armond finished first in the 200-yard Freestyle. In the 500-yard Freestyle, freshman Davis Edwards took first. Junior Noah Wilkens took first in the 100-yard Backstroke. In the 100-yard Breaststroke, senior Felix Rabito finished first. Senior Cade Fuxan took first in the 100-yard Butterfly. In the 200-yard IM, sophomore Noah Cormier finished first. Blue Jay relay teams also won the 200- and 400-yard Freestyle Relays and the 200-yard Medley Relay.
