Fr. Raymond Fitzgerald, S.J. ’76 delivers a homily to the members of Sodality gathered in the Holy Name Chapel.

On Thursday, May 21, The Sodality of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception held its final Mass bidding farewell to its senior Sodalists and bringing the academic year to a notable close. In a standing-room only ceremony, six new Sodalists were consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary and joined the current members who renewed their own promises. Fr. Raymond Fitzgerald, S.J. ’76, who served as moderator of the senior Sodality, delivered a homily that exemplifies his admirable qualities as a Jesuit priest and called the more thanĀ 60 young men in the room to offer themselves as a gift from God the Father to Christ the Son.

The Sodality also honored Mr. LaLonde, S.J., moderator of the junior Sodality, as he concludes the final year of his regency at Jesuit High School and advances in his formation to theological studies at Boston College.

In acknowledging departures, Fr. Fitzgerald was recognized for his tremendous support and leadership in Sodality throughout the years. Fr. Fitzgerald is currently preparing to be reassigned to his new mission beyond the realm of Jesuit High School and into the broader horizon of the mission of the Society of Jesus throughout the world, seen and unseen.
