Soccer alumni returned to their alma mater to celebrate Soccer Homecoming 2015-2016. Prior to the varsity match pitting the Blue Jays against the Ocean Springs Greyhounds, the families of the alumni Jays and today’s soccer Jays mingled in Pontiff Pavilion at John Ryan Stadium for a reception hosted by the advancement office and the parents of this year’s players. Everyone enjoyed an afternoon of food, refreshments, and Blue Jay Spirit, soccer-style, all beneath beautiful clear blue skies.

A special treat for the former players and their children was the annual halftime opportunity for “free-play” on Alumni Field. Many of the future stars could be seen dribbling special “Blue Jay Soccer” balls, a gift of today’s soccer program.

Following the hard-fought 3-1 victory over the Greyhounds, the Jays and their visitors shook hands and then sat down for a common meal before the Greyhounds raced back to Ocean Springs. Special thanks go out to parent Vonda Rice and her fellow parent workers for providing so much food and Blue Jay hospitality.
