Support Jesuit’s Operation Upgrade on Dec. 1 through #iGiveCatholic on #GivingTuesday.

Show your support for Jesuit and Catholic Education by participating in the first-ever #iGiveCatholic on #GivingTuesday. Donations will be accepted online for 24 hours only, on Dec. 1, 2015, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (CST).

All donations to Jesuit through #iGiveCatholic will support the school’s Operation Upgrade program.

Operation Upgrade is Jesuit’s academic outreach initiative for talented young men from disadvantaged backgrounds. The program serves three purposes: to serve economically disadvantaged, at-risk male youths, to afford Jesuit students the opportunity to learn and share the blessing of their education with others through service, and to identify students who have the potential to thrive at Jesuit High School or other quality schools in the New Orleans area.

Approximately 60 students are spread among six classrooms. The program now includes rising sixth-graders as well as seventh- and eighth-graders. A recent survey found that Operation Upgrade graduates do as well or better than students in Jesuit’s general population. (Read more about Operation Upgrade.)

The goal of #iGiveCatholic is to inspire the Catholic community in the Archdiocese of New Orleans to come together as faithful stewards and to “Give Catholic” on Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back to your community. On Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, Jesuit joins individuals and organizations around the world that come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
