Robotics Team Wins “Think Award” at Regional Tourney
Two Blue Jay Robotics teams, along with 26 other teams from across southeast Texas and southern Louisiana, traveled to San Jacinto College to compete at the Southeast First Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics Tournament held at San Jacinto College on Saturday, Feb. 21. Both teams fought hard to reach the semifinals match, but ultimately did not advance far enough to go to the Super Regional in San Antonio, Texas.
Jesuit’s Team 6448 members won the Think Award for their engineering notebook. This award is given to the team best understands the role of the engineering notebook in the design process.
Robotics Team members participating in the regional tournament were moderators Kyle White, Mel Triay ’03, and Eric Leefe ’03; senior Michael Belanger, Bryan Jones, Michael Riddick, and Steven Stradley; junior Andrew Vuong; sophomores Todd Crabtree, John Crowson, and Julian Mahfouz; and freshman Emory Ducote.
