Jesuit started off the quiz bowl season with a strong win in Tulane’s Autumnal Academic Adventure on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Two Jesuit Quiz Bowl teams participated against numerous teams from across southeast Louisiana and Mississippi in the tournament. The all-senior team of Andrew Cerise (captain), D.J. Ogbomah, Stephen Owers and Anthony Stoner went 8-2 to win the tournament. They easily defeated their Baton Rouge Magnet High School opponent in a playoff game by over 100 points. Stoner was the top scorer for the senior Jesuit team.

The all-sophomore varsity team also did very well. Captained by Caleb Rogers and joined by William Brown, Ethan Ehrhardt, Manuel Molina and Eddie Redmann, the team went 7-3, winning three of their games on the last question, only being denied a tie in the playoffs by an earlier loss to the senior Jesuit team. Rogers was the top scorer for the sophomore Jesuit team.
