The Blue Jay basketball team (11-5, 2-2) cruised to a 62-41 finish against the Holy Cross Tigers on Tuesday, Jan. 27. Three Blue Jays scored double digits and everyone on the bench got some playing time in the district win.

Seniors Trey LaForge and Foster Moreau posted 17 points each, helping give the Jays an early lead.

After entering halftime with a 28-15 lead, LaForge and Moreau led Jesuit in the 3rd quarter, outscoring Holy Cross by 11 and giving the Jays a 49 -25 lead.

The fourth quarter was an opportunity for the rest of the team to shine and junior Rob Weiss, who finished the night with 12 points, scored seven from the foul line. Senior Evan Duhon scored five, including a three-pointer that helped Jesuit put the game away.

The Blue Jays return to action on Friday, Jan. 30, as they take on St. Augustine on the Purple Knights’ home court. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. The Jays hope to avenge their district-opening loss to the Purple Knights on Jan. 16.
