Senior Foster Moreau shoots for two against St. Augustine.

After a strong first half leading by three, the Jays lost their momentum in the homestretch to fall by three, 45-42, to the Purple Knights in the District 95A basketball opener at home on Jan. 16. 

Senior Foster Moreau posted a game high 19 points and eight rebounds for the Jays (9-4, 0-1) and battled head to head in the final moments of the game with St. Aug’s (16-4, 1-0) leading scorer. Senior Trey LaForge, who was blanketed by Purple Knight defenders the entire game, finished with 10 points and senior Paul Kohnke added five.

The Blue Jays will next face rival Brother Martin on Tuesday, Jan. 20 in the Birdcage. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Follow game action live on Twitter @bluejay_hoops.
