Blue Jays Pull Through for a Close Win Over De La Salle, 47-44
In a game where Jesuit found itself down by 10 points at the half, the Blue Jays were able to rebound and overcome the deficit with aggressive play to contain the Cavaliers, 47-44. The non-district game was held in a filled gymnasium at De La Salle on Jan. 6.
Senior Foster Moreau led the team with 16 points and tough physical play. Fellow senior Trey LeForge followed close behind with 14 points. Junior Rob Weiss chipped in nine points.
Jesuit trailed 29 to 19 at the half, but used a 12-0 run after the break to take a thee point lead over the Cavs, who are now 14-3. The Blue Jays had a 45 to 39 lead with 24 seconds left and fended off a Cavalier run that pulled them within three.
Jesuit faces Northlake Christian on Friday, Jan. 9, and then plays two games at home, including the district opener against St. Augustine, the following week.
