The No. 18-seeded Blue Jays’ playoff run ended with a 61-46 loss in overtime to the No. 15 Skippers in Mandeville on Friday, Feb. 27. The game was tied 39-39 at the end of regulation, but the Skippers outscored the Jays 22-7 in the extended game.

Each team claimed a quarter as the lead see-sawed up to the end. The Jays trailed 17-15 coming out of halftime, but outscored their opponents in the third. Senior Trey LaForge, who led the Jays with 22 points, scored 12 points of the team’s 18-9 run in the quarter.

When it came to the fourth, Jesuit’s offense went cold with missed shots and a number of turnovers to end in a tie. Coach Chris Jennings said, “We outplayed them all the way until then, and that was it.”

Adding points for the Jays’s final game were junior Rob Weiss with 10 points and senior Foster Moreau with nine.

Jesuit finished the 2014-2015 season 16-9. Jays fans are grateful for a competitive season that was tweeted via @BlueJay_Hoops by parent volunteer Gerald Duhon.
