Wrestling Team Finishes in Top 5 at Ken Cole Invitational

In what is often regarded as a preview of the state championship meet, the Blue Jay wrestling team took fourth place at the annual Ken Cole Invitational. The tournament featured 60 teams and 498 individual wrestlers.

Junior Brody Martin had a stand-out performance and captured an individual championship in the 106-pound weight class, besting Alex Betteridge of East Ascenson in an 8-6 Decision.

The Blue Jays return to action when they head to Brother Martin for a dual meet against the Crusaders on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.

106 – Junior Brody Martin, 1st Place in a close match against Alex Betteridge (East Ascension), 8-6 Decision

113 – Senior Nicky Charles, 2nd Place in a very close match that went to Double Overtime against Mason Mauro (Brother Martin)

132 – Junior Jake Rovira, 5th Place against Noah Landry (Brusly High)

138 – Sophomore Griffin Mason, 3rd Place against Jacob Rees (Teurlings Catholic High)

152 – Senior Ashton Queyrouze, 4th Place against Koby Mancuso (Brusly High)
