Wrestlers Named Champions in Mandeville Open

The Jesuit Wrestling Team competed in their second high school tournament of the season, the Mandeville Open, on Saturday, Nov.15 at Mandeville High School.

For the second week in a row, three wrestlers were champions winning their weight classes:
Senior Brody Martin defeated Chris Zea of Holy Cross in the 106 lb weight class
Junior Guy Patron, Jr. defeated Tyler Troncoso of Rummel High School
Senior Dominic Carmello defeated Christian Ponson of Fontainebleau High School

Four wrestlers were finalists in their weight classes:
Senior Peyton Markey (132 lb)
Junior Brandon Wolff (138 lb)
Senior Jake Rovira (145 lb)
Junior Griffin Mason (152 lb)

Team scores were not totaled for this tournament.

The team will next compete in the Bulldog Duals at Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville on Nov. 22.
