Tulane Names Tanner Lee ’13 as Starting Quarterback

As the Tulane University football team opened week two of preseason camp, head coach Curtis Johnson announced that redshirt-freshman quarterback Tanner Lee will be the team’s starting quarterback when the Green Wave open their 2014 season.

Surrounded by family and friends, Tanner Lee – one of Louisiana’s top quarterbacks – signed a scholarship Wednesday, February 6, 2013, to play football at Tulane.

“Tanner Lee is our starting quarterback. He’ll start this year and I think he’ll have a great season and a great career,” said Green Wave head coach Curtis Johnson. “He’s got a strong arm, command of our offense, great leadership skills and doesn’t make many mistakes.”

While Tulane has had several freshmen signal callers draw starting assignments over the years, Lee projects to become just the second Green Wave rookie in program history to open a season under center.
