Tennis Sweeps St. Augustine, Br. Martin in District Matches
Jesuit’s varsity tennis team is celebrating back-to-back district victories, sweeping St. Augustine 6-0 on Thursday, March 20, and Brother Martin 7-0 on Monday, March 24.
Jesuit vs. Brother Martin
The Blue Jays won all seven matches against the Crusaders on Monday at City Park Tennis Center. Singles winners were senior Jordan Lacoste (8-3), juniors Gregory Suhor (8-4) and Alex DePascual (8-1), and sophomore Jonathan Niehaus (8-0). Doubles winners were seniors Andrew Tufts and Kevin Mickan (8-1), sophomores Jonathan and Jacob Niehaus (8-1), and Suhor and sophomore Brandon Beck (8-1).
Jesuit vs. St. Augustine
The Jays won all six matches against St. Augustine last Thursday at the UNO Tennis Center. Freshman Jack Steib and junior Patrick Torsch led the way with wins in both singles and doubles. Freshman Trey Hamlin, sophomores Griffin Pels and Andrew Nguyen, and freshman Graham Buck also posted wins for the Jays.
The Blue Jays are now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in district play. They will play a non-district match versus Country Day on Tuesday, March 25.
