The Blue Jay soccer team rebounded nicely from a tough outing in Jackson, Mississippi by whipping Archbishop Shaw, 10-0. The district opener was played on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

The Jays went winless in four tournament games over the weekend, but got back into the victory column with a bench-clearing win —the good kind, in which everybody plays — over the Eagles.

Junior Dylan Fuchs found the back of the net four times, while classmate Chase Rushing tallied a hat trick. Others scoring for the Jays were seniors Patrick LaCour, Jack LaForge, and junior Connor Maheu, who had one goal each. Senior Otto Candies started the game in goal, but juniors Charles Glass and Brady LeBlanc also saw action in front of the net.

The Blue Jays, who are now 2-4-2, play their second district game on Friday, Dec. 12, at John Ryan Stadium. Kickoff against Archbishop Rummel is 6:30 p.m. The match is Jesuit’s home opener.
