Robotics Team Wins Regional Qualifier Tourney in Houston

The Blue Jay Robotics Team won the Southeast Texas Regional Robotics Qualifier Tournament in Houston on Saturday, Nov. 1.  Going 8-0-1, the robotics team qualified for the Southeast Texas Regional Championship on Feb. 21 by advancing to, and winning, the finals match.

Seniors Michael Belanger, Bryan Jones, and sophomore Todd Crabtree participated in the tournament. The team also received the Rockwell Collins Innovate Award for a robot design demonstrating ingenuity and inventiveness. 

This team, along with a second Blue Jay team, will travel to Baton Rouge to participate in another tournament on Dec. 13.  Woodlawn High School will host the event.
