Retif Oil Dines on Deanie’s Seafood, Escaping with a 4-2 Win

Retif Oil didn’t make it easy against Deanie’s Seafood (Rummel) on Sunday at the American Legion State Tournament.
Retif, leading 4-2 going into the bottom of the 9th, survived even as Deanie’s loaded the bases with no outs. It appeared Deanie’s would pull out a last inning win, but it wans’t meant to be. Retif reliever Glynn Hyer struck out two batters and a third grounded out to preserve a 4-2 win over Deanie’s at John Ryan Stadium.
Retif is scheduled to play Refuel (Shaw) Monday evening at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium, provided the field passes the humidity inspection. Game time is approximately 7:30 p.m. A Retif win will send the boys in blue to the championship game.
Retif scattered eight hits and took advantage of five errors made by Deanie’s. Retif pitcher Logan Hornung got the win.
