Jesuit High School’s Student Council presented the 2014 – 2015 Homecoming Court at halftime of the Blue Jays’ and Warriors’ game on Friday, October 3 at Tad Gormley Stadium. The seven couples comprising the Court were formally introduced as each walked across a swath of midfield bordered by the Jayettes, members of the Blue Jay Marching Band, and the MCJROTC Honor Guard.
Each couple was greeted by Fr. Anthony McGinn, S.J. ’66, president of Jesuit High School, who presented the ladies with bouquets of white roses. After the seven couples were introduced, Fr. McGinn placed the traditional rhinestone-studded crown on Sophie Millet, a senior at Mt. Carmel Academy who was elected Homecoming Queen by a majority vote of Jesuit’s Class of 2015.
The 2014 – 15 Homecoming Court was presented in this order:
The freshmen/sophomore couple is Erin D’Andrea Stewart and her escort Lawless Oubre, a freshman and a member of the Jesuit swim team. He is also a member of the Zulu Organization. Erin is a freshman at Lusher Charter School where she plays softball and is an athletic trainer. She hopes to attend Howard University and become a physical therapist.
The first junior couple is Madeline Zimmer and her escort David Keller, who is junior class president and a member of the National Honor Society. He plans to attend LSU and study either petroleum engineering or dentistry. Madeline attends Mt. Carmel Academy where she is a member of the Student Council, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Teens for Life, and the cross country team. She plans to study journalism and communications at a college outside Louisiana.
The second junior couple is Jennifer Madden and her escort Francesco Pineda, who is a member of the varsity track team and on the board of Jesuit’s Student-to-Student Program. He also participates in the Student Council and the Ultimate Frisbee Club. Francesco plans to study English in college. Jennifer attends St. Mary’s Dominican High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Ambassadors, the Pro-Life Club, and the Christian Leadership Club. Jennifer hopes to become a pharmacist.
The first senior couple is Kayla Noto and her escort David Boh, who is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. He is also involved in Jesuit’s Intramural Sports Program. David plans to study Business Management in college. Kayla attends St. Mary’s Dominican High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Art Honor Society, and the Craft Club. She also plays on Dominican’s varsity basketball team. Kayla plans to continue playing basketball in college and study either physical therapy or medicine.
The second senior couple is Maddie Cvitanovich and Harrison Bond, who is senior class president. Maddie’s escort is Trent Forshag, who was standing in for his friend. Harrison is a member of the National Honor Society, the Investment Club, the Peer Support Program, and the Academic Support Program. He also participates in the Campus Ministry Program. Outside of Jesuit, he is active in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Harrison plans to study business in college. Maddie attends Mt. Carmel Academy where she is a member of Louisiana Youth for Excellence and Teens for Life. She is also a Jesuit cheerleader. Maddie plans to study journalism and communications in college.
The third senior couple is Rebekah Besselman and Trey LaForge, who is quarterback of Jesuit’s varsity football team. Rebekah’s escort is senior Jack LaForge, who was standing in for his cousin. Trey is a member of the Student Council and the National Honor Society. In addition to playing football, he is on the varsity basketball team. Trey hopes to study engineering in college. Rebekah attends St. Mary’s Dominican High School where she is a member of the Pro-Life Club, the Spirit Club, and the Intramurals Club. She is also a Eucharistic Minister and a Jesuit Cheerleader. Rebekah plans to study marketing at either LSU or Ole Miss.
The fourth and final senior couple is Sophie Millet and Michael McMahon. Sophie’s escort is Christopher McMahon, who is Michael’s brother and a freshman at Jesuit. Michael is a fullback on the varsity football team and a member of the varsity track team. He is a member of the Student Council’s Executive Board, the Sodality, the Peer Support Program, and participates in the Campus Ministry Program. Sophie is a Jesuit Cheerleader and attends Mt. Carmel Academy where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Teens for Life, and vice president of the Louisiana Youth for Excellence. Sophie plans to study business management at LSU.
