Dutch Treat! Lacrosse Jays Down Dutchtown on Senior Night, 18-1

Senior Thomas Nimmo was a force against St. Paul's and again against Dutchtown on April 8, 2014 at Muss Bertolino Stadium in Kenner.

Senior Thomas Nimmo was a force against St. Paul’s and again against Dutchtown on April 8, 2014 at Muss Bertolino Stadium in Kenner.

In chilly and blustery conditions, the Blue Jay lacrosse team ganged up  on the Griffins of Dutchtown. Jesuit won the rescheduled match, 18-1, on Tuesday, April 8, at Muss Bertolino Stadium in Kenner.

At halftime, the program honored the 2014 team’s six seniors and their parents for their commitment to Jesuit lacrosse.

The seniors recognized were Arman Alizadeh, Charley Hamilton, Evan Fitzpatrick, Robert Montenegro, Thomas Nimmo, and Colby Simoneaux.

Alizadeh finished the game with five goals and an assist. Nimmo had two goals and three assists. Fitzpatrick had two goals and Hamilton had one.

Goalies Eric Wright and Rob Hinyub combined for six saves.

Alizadeh, Fitzpatrick, Nimmo, and Simoneaux are serving as captains for the 2014 squad.

Alizadeh, Fitzpatrick, Montenegro, Nimmo, and Simoneaux were on the 2012 and 2013 state championship teams.

Fitzpatrick and Montenegro plan to continue their lacrosse careers in college at Rhodes College and the University of Louisiana in Lafayette respectively.

The Jays begin their run at a third consecutive state championship when they face Brother Martin on Thursday, April 10 at Muss Bertolino. Opening face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The winner advances to the state semi-finals in Lafayette.
