Senior Rishab Chimmanamada and junior Mayank Mardia won first place in Public Forum Debate.

The Debate Team had a great all-around performance at the Mount Carmel debate tournament held on Nov. 7-8, 2014. In Public Forum debate, the team of senior Rishab Chimmanamada and junior Mayank Mardia were champions, winning their first tournament of the year.

In Advanced LD debate, sophomore Nikhil Gogineni advanced to elimination rounds for the first time in his career, winning through to the semifinals and earning a third place finish. In Novice LD debate, pre-freshman Charles Korndorffer advanced to semifinals and placed third in his first tournament ever. The Public Forum win is the team’s second local win in a row, only a month after senior Mako Giordano and junior Andrew Cerise won the Public Forum division at the Holy Cross debate tournament.

The team’s next local tournament is at St. Augustine on December 5-6, followed by one at Isidore Newman on Dec. 12-14.
