In June 2014, a small group of Blue Jays from the Class of 1998 established a scholarship in honor of Fr. Raymond Fitzgerald, S.J. The initial donation for the Rev. Raymond Fitzgerald, S.J. Scholarship donated by the Class of 1998 was $5,000. The amount to fully endow the scholarship is $60,000, which class leaders hope to complete before their next  five-year reunion in 2018.

Scholarship donations are used for the sole purpose of providing financial assistance to families who are not able to afford the full cost of tuition. No Blue Jay has been turned away from Carrollton and Banks because his family did not have the financial resources to obtain a Jesuit High School education.

Members of the Class of 1998 got to know Fr. Fitzgerald during their days as students at Carrollton and Banks. Fr. Fitzgerald, who has been diagnosed with ALS, served as president of Jesuit from 2012 – 2014. He is now a special assistant to the president and a member of Jesuit’s campus ministry team.
