Freshman Nolan Lambert (left) and sophomore Johnny Cedro are already contributing to the 2013-2014 Blue Jay golf team.

A pair of rookies helped the Blue Jay golf team beat Holy Cross, 155-166. The district match was played on Thursday, March 27, at Lakewood Golf Club in New Orleans.

Freshman Nolan Lambert and sophomore Johnny Cedro shot impressive 39s. Other starters included sophomore Carlo Carino (38), seniors Cole Johnson (40) and Will Myers (41), and junior Francis Plough (41). Only the top four scores counted toward the team total.

“Our plan is to get all of our guys as much tournament experience as possible as we prepare for the playoffs,” said head coach Owen Seiler ’75. So far the plan is working well. Jesuit is 4-0 in spring district competition. The Blue Jays beat Brother Martin earlier in the week.

Sophomore Grant Glorioso (36), and seniors Alex Anderson (38), C.J. Blagrove (39), Will Dufour (39), and Joe McAloon played practice rounds.

The Blue Jays return to action against Rummel on Thursday, April 3, at Lakewood.
