The Blue Jay Band‘s annual Spring Concert and Award Ceremony was attended by 250 guests in the auditorium on Saturday, April 26. Band director Mr. M. Joseph Caluda led the concert band and associate band director Mr. Jason M. Giaccone led the jazz band performances.

Senior Musician Arranges & Conducts

Mr. Caluda introduced the concert band’s final piece as “something a little different,” for the music program, “something that’s never been done in all the years I’ve been here.” For the first time in school’s music program, the band performed a piece that was arranged and conducted by a student. Senior Gui Kirsch arranged a piece entitled “Rhapsody” and conducted the concert band’s performance on this special occasion.

Seniors Chris Sylvain and John Mitton received the Rev. Elwood P. Hecker award.

The band recognized seniors Peter Belleau, Adam Boe, Patrick Doell, Gui Kirsch, Matthew Lauto, John Mitton, Dalton Stieffel, Quinn Stiller, Chris Sylvain, and Richard Williams.
