Senior Cole Johnson shot a 34 to help lead the Blue Jays over Archbishop Shaw at Stonebridge Country Club.

Golf is often referred to as a game of inches. The district match against Archbishop Shaw on Thursday, March 20 would be more easily measured in miles. The Blue Jays beat the Eagles at Stonebridge Country Club in Gretna, 142-194.

Leading the way for the Jays were senior Cole Johnson and freshman Nolan Lambert who shot 34s. Senior Alex Anderson posted a 36 and junior Francis Plough recorded a 38. Senior Will Myers’s 40 was discarded.

Practice round scores included senior C.J. Blagrove and sophomore Grant Glorioso (33), seniors Will Dufour and Joe McAloon (34), sophomores Carlo Carino and Jonathan Cedro (38).

The Blue Jays are 2-0 in spring district play. On Tuesday, March 18, they beat Archbishop Rummel at Timberlane Country Club, 149-169.

Jesuit faces Brother Martin on Tuesday, March 25 at Lakewood Golf Club in New Orleans. Tee time is 4 p.m.
