Blue Jays Fall to Purple Knights in District Contest, 53-40
The Blue Jays took a hit on the road falling 53-40 to district rival St. Augustine on Friday night. While Jesuit held a tight 23-21 lead at the half, the loss of starting senior Grant Nichols to a leg injury led to a weak third quarter showing in which the Jays scored only four points, all by junior Foster Moreau.
Junior Trey LaForge’s game high 18 points was split largely between the first and fourth quarters. Moreau finished with 10 points and senior Riley Conroy contributed eight.
The Jays’ record falls to 14-9 overall and 2-3 in district play with an upcoming road game against league-leading Archbishop Rummel (14-12, 4-1) on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. Follow game action live at Twitter.com/bluejay_hoops.
