After asking his fellow Blue Jays to recall their fondest Jesuit memories, Jesuit president Fr. Raymond Fitzgerald, S.J. ’76, challenged his “brothers” to think beyond the confines of Carrollton and Banks.

“The best is always yet to come,” he assured the 260 seniors and their families during his homily at the 2014 Baccalaureate Mass on Sunday, May 18.

Fittingly the unofficial end of the class’s spiritual journey at Jesuit took place in the Chapel of the North American Martyrs where, five years ago , the journey began for most of them at Investiture.

The standing-room only Mass was con-celebrated by Fr. Fitzgerald and his brother Jesuits: Fathers Norman O’Neal, Nicholas Schiro ’44, John Brown, and school chaplain Don Saunders.

After Mass, seniors and their families enjoyed a punch and pastry reception in the Student Commons.

Graduation 2014 is Thursday, May 22 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner. Seniors are reminded that they must be present at Thursday’s graduation rehearsal, which begins promptly at 9 a.m.at the Pontchartrain Center.
