Surf & Turf: Blue Jays Hope to Tame the Green Wave in the Season Opener on Friday at Tad Gormley Stadium

The Green Wave surfs into town on Friday evening, September 6 to play the Blue Jays on the artificial turf at Tad Gormley Stadium. This special “surf and turf” kicks off at 7 p.m.

Pre-sale tickets are priced at $6 each for adults and students. All tickets purchased at the gate are $8. Student IDs will not be accepted at the gate. However, faculty and staff IDs will be accepted at the gate. A spouse or guest also will be permitted free admission with faculty or staff ID.

The non-district game between Jesuit and Ponchatoula will be broadcast on WRBH Radio. Sportscaster and Blue Jay alumnus Danny Riehm ’00 will handle the play-by-play and former Jesuit coach Mark Songy will be right next to him to provide analysis and color commentary. The pre-game program starts at 6:40 p.m. Halftime guest will be Mark Cousins, a 1974 Blue Jay alumnus who is serving as chairman of this year’s Parents’ Annual Giving drive.
