On Wednesday, August 28, 2013, three members of the St. Peter Claver Club attended a prayer service hosted by the Archdiocese of New Orleans to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington D.C. where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech. Archbishop Gregory Aymond led the ceremony, which was held outside Notre Dame Seminary and also included an address by Mayor Mitch Landrieu, a 1978 graduate of Jesuit.

The mission of the St. Peter Claver Club is to develop a positive, nurturing environment to discuss and promote diversity at Jesuit High School. It seeks to help its members develop the leadership and the intellectual, social, and spiritual skills needed to attain success in their lives.
