Rematch 2.0! Blue Jays Ready to Play Purple Knights in Round Two of Playoffs

It takes a team. A flock of Blue Jays fly to St. Augustine running back Leonard Fournette in their regular season game on Nov. 8 at Tad Gormley Stadium.
One week after beating Brother Martin for a second time this season, the Blue Jay football team will face another familiar foe. Jesuit plays St. Augustine in the regional round of the 5A select playoffs on Friday, Nov. 22. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Tad Gormley Stadium.
The Jays faced the Knights less than two weeks ago. St. Augustine, led by top high school recruit Leonard Fournette, won the Nov. 8 contest, 34-14.
“After the Brother Martin game I asked our young men to look inside of themselves to see what they have left in the tank, especially our seniors,” said head football coach Wayde Keiser ’78. “We’re going to find out Friday night.”
Ticket Information
Tickets for the game are available up until 4 p.m. on Friday at Jesuit’s switchboard (entrance is the blue awning on Banks Street). Pre-sale tickets for adults, students, and children (ages 6-11) are $8. All tickets purchased at the gate are $10. Student IDs and season passes will not be accepted. Jesuit is the visiting team so Blue Jay fans are asked to sit on the Roosevelt Mall side of the stadium (facing Marconi Drive).
Broadcast & Streaming of the Game
The game will be broadcast on WMTI “The Ticket.” (106.1 FM). Danny Riehm ’00 will handle play-by-play duties with former Blue Jay coach Mark Songy providing game analysis. The pre-game show starts at 6:30 p.m. A live audio stream of the game may be accessed through the Jesuit web site.

Senior Christopher Dupré stands with Alumni Director Mr. Mat Grau '68. Earlier in the school year, Grau told Student Council the story of his class creating a similarly large banner during his senior year. Dupré asserts the banner is 1,500 sq. in. bigger than the ’68 banner. Grau maintains the Student Council needs to check their math.
