Annually, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve collects toys for local needy children in a Toys for Tots drive. This year, the Jesuit MCJROTC collected hundreds of toys by sponsoring a homeroom contest.

The MCJROTC sponsored a contest to see which homeroom could collect the most toys from Dec. 2-12. In each grade, the homeroom that collected the most toys will be awarded a Krispy Kreme doughnut breakfast at the beginning of the second semester. The winning homerooms will be announced on Monday, Dec. 16.

Jesuit MCJROTC cadets will help distribute toys to children on Saturday, Dec. 14 in Kenner.

Toys for Tots was founded in 1995 by the U.S. Marine Corps to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
