Seven Jesuit students have been chosen to officially offer input and advice to elected officials in the City of Kenner. Seniors Pablo Amador and Peter Belleau; junior Brandon Sprague; sophomores Cameron Armand, Mayank Mardia, and Arjun Verma; and freshmen Cameron Rosen were among 20 high school students selected to serve on Mayor Mike Yenni’s inaugural Youth Advisory Council. Yenni is a Jesuit alumnus from the Class of 1994.

Members of the YAC will meet once per month and will attend a City Council meeting once per quarter. Orientation will take place on Monday, Dec. 9. Members of the group will be sworn in before the City Council meeting scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 19.

“This is a way for these high school students to learn about and actually have an impact on the operations of local government, and a way for Kenner officials to get ideas and feedback from this under represented segment of our city,” Mayor Yenni said.

Applications were made available to Kenner residents between the ages of 14 and 19.
