Jesuit Takes Hit in Tournament Play with Loss to East Jefferson, 53-39

Jesuit basketball played a tight first half against East Jefferson on Thursday, Dec. 6 in the CYO Tournament, but when the Jays fell behind in the third quarter, they lost their momentum and ultimately the game.

The Jays were only one point behind at the half, 23-22. In the third quarter, Blue Jays put only two points on the board while East Jefferson rallied adding 18 points.

Junior Trey Laforge led the team scoring 15 points while senior Riley Conroy added eight and junior Foster Moreau added seven.

The 53-39 loss means that the birdcage will not see its home team in the semi-finals tonight. Blue Jays will play against East St. John in their final tournament game on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. in the De La Salle gym.
