The Jesuit swimming team is preparing to compete in the Division 1 State Swim Championship in Sulphur this weekend, hoping to defend its 2012 title. Last year, the team defeated the 2011 championship team from Catholic High of Baton Rouge by a narrow margin. The 2012 first place win marked the 37th state championship for Jesuit swimming.

Coach Bret Hanemann ’85 says the Jesuit team’s strength is its depth, having a number of top-5 seed swimmers. The team has won every meet so far this season and are getting ready for the stiff competition that comes at the state meet.
